usability evaluation

audit the usability of your website

Usability evaluation is where one of our experts looks at your site and identifies where usability improvements can be made.

It is sometimes called an 'expert review' or a 'usability audit'. There are two types of evaluation. Heuristic evaluation measures the site against industry standard rules of thumb. A usability audit measures the website against a checklist of usability standards which are generally recognised by user experience professionals. If you need some quick improvements or want to keep costs down, then a usasbility evaluation may be for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is heuristic evaluation?

Usability heuristics are the ten rules of thumb developed by Jakob Nielsen and which are the standard measure of usability across the industry. The heuristics are: visibility of system status; match between system and the real world; user control and freedom; consistency and standards; error prevention; recognition rather than recall; flexibility and efficiency of use; aesthetic and minimalist design; help users recognize, diagnose, and recover from errors; elp and documentation. These are what we use to assess your site against, but we will always report back to you in plain English!

What is the Navopia Checklist?

For a more thorough evaluation, we have a checklist for each part of your website to make sure that it's going to work for most people. The checklists include: home page; content page; navigation; template; online forms; mobile sites.

How much does it cost?

The cost will depend on how many pages you want testing and how many facets of the user experience you want checking, such as home page usability, forms usability, content usability, information architecture, heuristics.
