We are passionate about providing good value and a user-centred approach.
A user-centred approach
It's heartbreaking when people and organisations throw huge sums at websites which have not been planned with the user in mind. Web designers and devlopers can be well meaning, but with some good solid user-centred design, it could have been so much better. We can work with you and your designer - or help you find one - to help deliver a website your really proud of.
Excellent value
We offer excellent value because we only offer the services you need at this point in time. We don't think it's a good use of your time and money if we write long reports which are left gathering dust on a shelf. We much prefer to work with you to see what your biggest need is today and just fix that.
How we see our services
We find it useful to group together our services as below. You don't need to know this, we just thought you might find it interesting!
- Quantitative Research: this includes search engine optimisation, pay per click, surveys, questionnaires, analytics, A/B testing, MVT testing.
-
Qualitative Research: this includes usability testing, live user testing, card sorting, focus groups.
-
Consultancy: usability and accessibility auditing and expert reviews.
- Interaction Design: this includes prototyping, wireframes, blueprints, style guides, design patterns.
- Information Architecture: designing search and navigation.
User Experience Architecture: looking at the overall user experience using all the above - the conductor of the user experience orchestra.
Our frameworks and protocols
In order to provide a consistant and quality service, we have our own frameworks and protocols. These are based on industry standards, although we will modify them where we believe we can bring better value and quality for the client. Examples of industry standard frameworks and protocols which we use include:
- Jakob Nielsen's usability heuristics
- The System Usability Scale
-
The usability.gov templates
Our philosophy is to take best practice and improve on it. We will present our findings to conferences and where our approach is adopted as best practice, it will become the standard for user experience design.
